Halloween Shots

Photobucket
This is quite possibly the coolest looking drink. Ever.

BLOODY BRAIN SHOTS:

Channel your inner mad scientist with this Bloody Brain Shooter. Mixing acidic lime juice and Irish cream causes the cream to curdle, creating brain-like strands in the shot.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 oz. strawberry vodka such as Stoli
1/8 oz. Rose’s lime juice
3/4 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
Splash of grenadine

Preparation: Chill vodka for better smoothness. Add vodka and lime juice to a shaker, shake and strain into a shot glass. Using a straw, dip some Bailey’s Irish Cream into the shot. Once you submerge the straw into the Bailey’s put your finger on top of the straw to hold the Bailey’s in the straw. Dip the straw tip into the vodka and slowly release your top finger. The Bailey’s will curdle a little bit due to the lime juice and you should be able to make strands of Bailey’s.

Repeat the straw/Bailey’s process to build a “brain” in the shot glass. Add a splash of grenadine to the concoction to add the ‘blood’ to the mix. Down the hatch as a shot.

I was just on The Cobra Snake and this is what I found.

17 days til Halloween!

Since GHP has been putting up all these costume ideas, I thought I'd do my part by giving some input as well. One of the greatest resources IMO is Craftster.org. So, I scratched the surface a bit and found these DIY gems!

1) Where the Wild Things Are

This one would be great for group costuming

No money? This costume is def for you. All you need is practically just tissue paper.

3) Brak
Forget Space Ghost. Team Brak!

And anything else you can think of from The Mighty Boosh

5) Bill, Tank, Zoey

This one's not from Craftster, but it's still pretty freakin awesome.

That's all for now folks! Good luck costuming!

I Lost Count

Costume Ideas for the past few days!

1. BUNCHIE

Photobucket

I'm not sure how exactly to pull this off. Maybe some pastel green posterboard with eyes? It'd be funny though. And PHALLIC.

2. SKELETON

Not so sure how to do this one either?
Clothes held stiff with skewers perhaps.
Or the almighty poster board.

2......Um......... Days

Okay 2 Costumes ideas for Today and Yesterday!

1. American Beauty

Materials Needed:
1. Tank top and leggings, or a body suit, or a one piece with tights that match your skin color.
2. Fake rose petals from Michael's. (Or maybe if you want to ZAZZ it up and it a little of your own flavor you can try other flower petals.....DIAMONDS if you're me because Diamonds Are Forever and I love BLING.)
3. Hot glue gun or stapler or needle and thread to sew petals to the clothes.

Cheap, easy, iconic and awesome.

And boys CAN do it too.

I've started watching Daria again recently and fell in love with the ending credits all over again.

Speaking of DARIA...
BONUS COSTUME IDEA:

The characters of Daria would also make fun costumes. If not for Halloween then DEFINITELY for that fun Cartoon Theme Party someone will be throwing soon......HINTTTTTT....CARTOON PARTIES ARE AWESOME....HINTTTTTT.

And <3 ~*~*~*~Lovey Dovey~*~*~*~ <3 couples can dress up as Daria and Trent or something. I love Trent. Idea 2: Hipster, Indie, Aborigines that are found deep in the American Apparel Forests of Los Angeles.

I love their stylist for this album cover. If I was going to be any kind of "wild man" I'd definitely get inspiration from this album cover. And I'll play Electric Feel from my pocket all night.

27 Days

Costume Idea of the day: Alexander DeLarge and his Droogs

Photobucket

I have this recent fascination/obsession with Stanley Kubrick, BEGINNING with A Clockwork Orange because I think the movie is brilliant. These guys are iconic and it's a relatively simple costume. But more than anything check out A Clockwork Orange, it's really a good movie....and book I hear.

Materials Needed:
- Bowler Hats (black)
- Black Combat Boots
- White button up shirt
- White baggy pants
- White suspenders
- OFF-White nut protector diaper thing
- Depending on your droog, fake body parts and blood (Eg. Alex has fake eyeballs on the cuffs of his shirt). And false eyelashes
- Optional: White Venetian mask with a fallic nose as seen in the most controversial scene of the movie.

Items not Needed:
- Morals and boundaries

To take it a step further and get into character more you can study some NADSAT!

And I just had to mention this other Stanley Kubrick inspired costume idea. If anyone has seen Eyes Wide Shut you can go as if you're one of the participants of "THAT PARTY." The cloaked ones of course. It's like V for Vendetta/Phantom of the Opera but more risque and cryptic.

THIS GUY IS NUTS.

Did he jump off of Mt. Everest or something?! Shgttttttt!

WTF WHY FROG

WHYYYYYYYYY

28 Days!

So in celebration of the upcoming holiday (aka: BEST HOLIDAY OF THE YEAR) I'm going to do a special countdown. And each day there will be a new Halloweener costume idea if you're feeling uninspired.

And because I've missed the first 2 countdown days....this post will have THREE costume ideas:

30 Days to Halloween: Madonna in her quintessential outfit.

Photobucket

How to: 1. Get a bra, corset or bathing suit top.
2. Get some cardstock paper or plastic sheets would work even better (you can get those at art stores).
3. Fold the sheets into cones...the pointier, the BETTER.
4. Attach the cones onto the top via staples or glue or velcro or something that bonds stuff together. Whatever resources you can get your hands on.
5. For some extra ZAZZ get some of those "Paris Hilton" cell phone jewels and bedazzle the crap out of your Madonna top. Or glitter. Or glue some sequins. Get a stencil and graffiti some patterns. Any kind of decorating will work.
6. Any kind of tight bottom will work. Materials such as Lame, nylon, spandex, or vinyl are preferable though.

Photobucket
This isn't actually Madonna but that cone top is FIERCE.

29 Days to Halloween: Richard Simmons

Photobucket

The thought of acting like Richard Simmons for a night appeals to me.
....I might be the only one BUT HEY...just saying.
If you're going to be running around all night might as well be comfortable, Y/Y?

28 Days to Halloween: Construction Worker

Photobucket

Construction workers don't have to be frumpy!
I mean, look at these construction workers WERQ IT.
