RIP PAUL WALKER

I am in shock and disbelief. This fine, beautiful, dapper, perfect, angelic, ephemeral, stunning man was taken away TOO SOON.

A moment of silence for Paul.

A Fast and Furious marathon is in order. So damn depressing!!! God he was beautiful.

Hear Hear: KING RAT through Heath Ledger's Mind

This music video for Modest Mouse's "King Rat" was just recently released. And it's not just any music video. This video was the vision of/directed by the late Heath Ledger (RIP HEATH A KNIGHTS TALE FOREVER).

The video is making a statement against whale hunting...a very strong, graphic/disturbing and gory statement. But that's the best way to draw a feeling from someone in our fast paced society I think. Sometimes you need to see a person getting harpooned to understand the gravity of whale hunting.

Saddly, Heath died before the video could be completed. But I think he'd be pleased with the final result. It's a powerful video.

From the video description:
"In January of 2007, while visiting his homeland of Australia, Heath Ledger presented Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse with an idea to direct a video for their yet-to-be-released song King Rat. Heaths vision, brave and unapologetic in its nature, would marry his love of bold and original music with his impassioned stance against the illegal commercial whale hunts taking place off the coast of Australia each year.

Always one to operate from his heart and take a stand for what he cared deeply about, Heaths intention was to raise awareness on modern whaling practices through a potent visual piece without having to say a word. It was his way to let the story, in its candid reversal, speak for itself.

The video was fully conceived down to the last detail but unfinished when Heath passed away in January of 2008. We completed the video in his honor with the support and advocacy of Isaac Brock.

Proceeds from iTunes video downloads in the first month of release will go toward Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization organization committed to ending the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. Sea Shepherd uses direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. We encourage you to visit their site in you are compelled to make a larger donation or volunteer your time. http://www.seashepherd.org

The King Rat video was directed by Heath Ledger, co-directed and illustrated by Daniel Auber with lead animation by Norris Houk, animation by Jade Taglioli and produced by Sara Cline of THE MASSES.

THE MASSES and Modest Mouse are proud to present King Rat. We hope Heaths work inspires you in the same way his passion and bravery inspired us."

Spread his legacy! Fight for a cause!

1958-2009

Photobucket

The gravity of his death is just starting to hit me as the shock wears off. The more I remember/realize what he has accomplished, the more it bothers me. I mean we ridiculed this man so much but holy FUCK was he an AMAZING entertainer. Absolutely amazing.

Don Diablo, Dutch DJ, shows his love and appreciation for the King through this fresh remix of Remember the Time...one of my favorite MJ jams.

A king like no other.

With impeccable fashion sense, I must say. I've already been in love with...everything...he wears (including pajamas to his court date, HATERS TO THE LEFT), and now I'm thinking I need to MJ-afiy my wardrobe. We're talking penny loafers, tube socks, and bomb ass Balmain blazers.

Photobucket
Take a look at this GQMF! I'm shaking and crying!

One of my favorite MJ moments: Usher (a product of MJ) joins him on stage and they have this epic dance battle. And then Chris Tucker gets involved.

In case you were wondering the logistics of that signature lean.

So I honor this great man. Gone but, never really gone.

Depressing Day

BREAKING NEWS

Earlier this morning Farah Fawcett lost her long battle with cancer.

Photobucket

And now I heard (I don't want it to be true, and haven't found any official stories on his death) Michael Jackson, the KING of pop, is dead after he was found not breathing in his home. Age 50!
EDIT: He's in a Coma, not dead, as of 5:22 PM. His brain function is minimal and CNN is saying it is unusual for a coma caused by cardiac arrest is VERY SERIOUS and not good at all.
EDIT2: RIP MJ, I raise my glove to you.

Photobucket

Omg, I can't believe this. MICHAEL JACKSON. MICHAEL JACKSON.
RIP. I'll be praying for both of these remarkable celebrities' families. This is tragic.

RIP Juicy Campus

juicy

Every once in a blue moon I visit Juicy Campus to read up on the latest nonsense. It's a guilty pleasure. Today I was shocked to see it's GONE and been replaced with some FUG stupid website called College ACB (Anonymous Confession Board). DNW! There are like 5 posts and they ALL SUCK. From the website:

In the wake of Juicy Campus' closing, we find ourselves in a unique position to establish ourselves as the new standard in anonymous college posting. The ACB is much like Juicy Campus, but there are several key differences. For one, we wish to promote deep and thoughtful discussion -- as well as the occasional "gossipy" post. We rely on user moderation, to help us flag any posts that may be threatening, racist, or otherwise illegal.

DNW! If this is the "standard" for anonymous college posting boards, I am extremely disappointed and DO NOT WANT. I 'm sorry but the appeal of Juicy Campus WAS that it was threatening, racist, illegal, etc etc AND anonymous. Honestly, half the posts were fake anyway why was everyone having such a stick up their ass. If you didn't like something someone posted it wasn't that hard to click 'reply' and stand up for what you believe in.

I don
't want to have deep and thoughtful discussions on an ANONYMOUS board! That's what forums are for, then you can have credit for the deep and thoughtful things you say. I WANT JUICY GOSSIP ON THE ANONYMOUS BOARD. Get it together Juicy Campus!!!

I was awakened rudely today when I asked SmarterChild to define a word for me...and he told me "HIS BRAIN DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE"?!

HE'S SOLD OUT! If you notice his status update...ABOUT MILEY CYRUS....I'm so offended. Now I actually have to go to Webster.com when I want to know what a word means. =(

RIP Circuit City

Circuit City opened Nov 1'st Closing Nov 31'st!
LIQUIDATION SALE!!!!! Get on that! Circuit City expects to end the sales around March 2009.

I'm so disappointed that I already replaced my car radio here. I would've waited had I known there would be a liquidation sale =(

At any rate, it's really sad that Circuit City is closing. They've been open for 60 years. And allowed 34,000 people to feed their families. I hope for the best for all those people!

RIP Betty Page

betty page

"LOS ANGELES – Bettie Page, the 1950s secretary-turned-model whose controverisal photographs in skimpy attire or none at all helped set the stage for the 1960s sexual revolution, died Thursday. She was 85.

Page suffered a heart attack last week in Los Angeles and never regained consciousness, said her agent, Mark Roesler. Before the heart attack, Page had been hospitalized for three weeks with pneumonia."

RIP one fierce lady.
