Now This is Some Pop Art I Can Get Behind

Love movies and art? Check these fantastic portraits by artist Mike Mitchell! They'll be on exhibit at the Mondo Gallery in Austin, TX starting April 26, for anyone in the Austin area.

I love that juxtaposition of cartoony line work with realistic painting. They'd look fabulous lined up in my hallway.

Hereros Fashion a la Deutschland

If there is one thing I love in the world, it is a great juxtaposition. Photographer Jim Naughten's Hereros series is a great juxtaposition. The series looks at the Hereros tribe of Namibia, a beautiful desert country, and their unique traditional fashions.

A mixture of 19th century traditional German clothing, German soldier uniforms, and traditions native to the area, the Hereros fashion definitely stands out. And there are some really great silhouettes.
Read more about the series (it's really interesting) and see the rest of the series
